*THE POWER OF IDENTITY* The world is suffering from identity crisis. People want to assume the role of others and copy others; forgetting who they really are. I have met people in life who are in their late 30's and yet have not clearly identified who they are. They have wasted their little days living other people's life. Read this story: A man was looking for a job and he noticed that there was an opening in a nearby zoo. He inquired about the job and discovered that the zoo had a very unusual position that they wanted to fill. Apparently their gorilla had died, they needed someone to dress up in a gorilla suit and act like a gorilla for a few days; until they could get another one. His job was just to sit, eat and sleep. His identity would be kept a secret, thanks to a very fine gorilla suit that was made for him and the good pay attached to the job. The man took the job and he tried putting on the suit and sure enough, he looked just like a gorilla. ...

God is looking for not only a clinging bride but also a walking partner. From the very beginning, God had a relationship with Adam and Eve that found them "walking in the garden in the cool of the day" (Genesis 3:8). God created man for the enjoyment of a walking relationship that involved companionship, dialogue, intimacy, joint decision-making, mutual delight, and shared dominion. God longs to walk with you, which is why his arms of grace have been pulling you into a closer walk with him. My wife, Marci, loves to go walking with her friend, Wendy. They talk the whole time. Nonstop. The walk not only makes exercise fun, it also deepens their friendship. Jesus went on these kinds of walks with his disciples, and he still likes to walk with us this way today. The secret place is not the destination; it is only the catalyst. It is designed of God to establish us in an intimate friendship with him that is walked out through the course of our everyday lives...

How big a role does art play in your church’s architecture, worship, even witness? Imagine you have just witnessed to an artist—and he enthusiastically agrees to visit your church. But when he arrives on Sunday, his face drops. There is not a single painting, tapestry, or piece of sculpture, anywhere in the church, with one exception: In a Sunday school classroom, he sees a mass-produced poster depicting Jesus carrying a lamb. If the same can be said of your church, or mine, we need to ask ourselves why. What does the lack of artistic expression in our churches says about the function of art, and the value we place on artistic works— and those who create them? And what are missing by the absence of art? We need to think seriously about these questions, and remember how much importance God Himself puts on artistic expression as a means of drawing people to Himself. For example, in the book of Exodus, we read of God’s directions to Moses regarding the design of t...

Dr. Grant, who was an oncologist, had been struggling with an extended illness. He passed away at his home in Nashville, surrounded by his family. Amy Grant took to Facebook following her father’s death to share an update: "Walking our dad home has been a 10 year journey, taking our family places we never imagined. We are all closer because of it. I'm so grateful for my dad." Grant went on to share that her dad lost his own father when he was young and it was his mother who paid for his education. "Years after my grandmother passed, I found [my father's] graduation program in a box of her things with a note from my dad,” Grant recalled , according to The Boot. It said, “'Mother, I hope I will serve mankind in such a way as to justify your faith in me. Love, Burton.’ Well done, Dad." Dr. Grant was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Dean Napier Grant, who died in 2011. Funeral arrangements for Dr. Grant were not yet announced. ...

Is there any benefit in male vir ginity? Sir, I have a question to ask you about male virginity. I have observed that female virginity is accorded more attention or better put, more importance than that of males. We have heard countless reasons why a female must maintain and keep her virginity. Now my question is, what does a boy, man, or guy benefit from being chaste? Would your wife appreciate it when you finally tie the knot? Needless to say I am one of them. Thanks. My RESPONSE: Male virginity, I love this. I was a twenty- seven-year-old virgin when I got married. My wife was also a virgin. Does virginity, whether male or female, accord benefits? Yes. Let me share one. On my wedding night, I had sex for the first time. It was November 4, 2000. That night, I had nothing to compare the experience with. I couldn't say it was better than sex with Ngozi, or the same as sex with Ruth, or any other lady in the world. No conflict existed in my mind. My wife cou...

Even though Jeff and Angela Hartung have been together for more than 17 years, the couple is still getting to know each other. After a terrible accident, Angela lost all memories from at least 15 years of her life. Now this husband dated wife after accident to see if he can reclaim their Angela had been crossing the street in New York City when she was hit by a car. She suffered a traumatic brain injury and was left in a coma for a month. When Angela finally woke up, she believed she was still married to her first husband and that her children were still only 2 and 8 years old. In reality, her first husband had passed away many years ago, she was remarried, and her children were now grown adults. And worst of all, Angela could not remember her current husband, Jeff. She did not even remember ever meeting, much less marrying the man who she had been with for nearly two decades. A lot of people may have given up, but Jeff saw this as a blessing. “How many times h...

Put God First Ecclesiastes 9:11 -I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. The race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong; it is the finger of God that makes the difference in every man’s life. The 'God' factor is the real factor that creates the future that belongs to you. Today I speak to into your destiny - you will have an encounter that will set your destiny on course and keep you flying when others are still trying to locate where to go in Jesus name! It will take only God to make that happen to you. Ecclesiastes 3:14 -I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. The 'God' factor is the real factor that guarantees a...

A 24-year-old Utah man born without limbs is thanking God for his talent and gifts and especially for his fiancée – a woman who has had a crush on him since childhood. “[N]one of this is possible without God’s hand in it. By His grace am I able to do any of these things," Gideon DiMeglio told KSL-TV. DiMeglio was born in 1994 without hands or arms and with feet attached to short legs. An ultrasound had prepared his parents – born-again Christians – for his disability. He was their fourth child. Soon, though, they discovered his many gifts. He had a big smile. He had an outgoing personality and was a leader among classmates at school. Most of all, he loved to draw – which he does today with his feet. His favorite drawing is of his fiancée, Brittani Salazar, who is able- bodied and has arms and legs. “I had a little crush on Gideon when I was little, like ongoing, off and on. I was just always the annoying little sister,” she told KSL. As a young girl, she ...
